Global Fairness Initiatives and Brick Clean Group Nepal, conducted technical examination of around 2,000 buildings under the initiative of American engineers and the Coordination of the Ministry of Urban Development.
Organising a press conference here in Kathmandu on Thursday, the Group submitted a report to the Ministry today. Homnath Acharya, one of the members of the Campaign, said, "We examined the technical aspects of the buildings and submitted the report to the Ministry after April 25 earthquake and aftershocks. Our campaign is continued."
The Campaign was led by 18 Americans who have the experiences of working in the natural disaster situations such as earthquakes in the world. Speaking at the press meeting American Engineer Scott Douglas said majority of the houses that develops cracks in the quake are unsafe to stay in them.
Meanwhile, a team of engineers that have the experiences of working in grave disasters in Haiti and USA to join the campaign, he added.
The group has expressed commitment to support in the reconstruction of the Hanuman Dhoka, one of the cultural heritages enlisted in the World Heritage Site.
