The Chaudhary Group (CG) has announced it was constructing 1,000 temporary houses in the most quake-affected districts and provide them to the victims free of cost.
Organising a news conference in Lalitpur today, CG Chairman Binod Kumar Chaudhary said that the new houses would be handed over to the victims after constructing them within the next six months.
Chaudhary further said that the group has been carrying out works with a target to construct 9,000 more houses with the collaboration of national and foreign donor agencies as well as other organisations.
He said the group would also reconstruct 100 damaged community schools. Stating that the group has allocated Rs 250 million for the support of quake victims, the CG Chairman said that they have distributed relief materials worth around Rs 20 million so far.
Each house will cost Rs 50,000 to Rs 100,000, it is learnt.
