Minister of urban development has urged housing developers to cater more to the housing needs of middle and low income ordinary Nepalis.
“Most of the existing housing projects seem to be targeted at high income earners but more developers should shift their focus on low cost housing development for ordinary Nepalis,” pointed out Narayan Khadka, minister of Urban Development, during the inauguration of the Fourth Real Estate Expo.
“The government is ready to help developers in coming up with such low cost projects,” he added.
The fourth edition of the real estate exhibition organised by Nepal Land and Housing Development Association (NLHDA) kicked off today, with the objective of providing a platform for numerous housing developers and prospective home buyers to meet under a single roof.
“The importance of planned housing and land development for proper urbanisation cannot be stressed enough and we hope to promote the culture of living in planned projects,” said Icchya Raj Tamang, president of NLHDA.
More than 150 exhibitors from the land, housing and construction sector will exhibit their products and services at the exhibition. Along with housing developers, land developers, construction companies and other housing related accessories such as paints, furniture and furnishing companies, plumbing, sanitary and electric accessories companies will showcase their products and offers at the expo.
Moreover, the exhibition taking place at Bhrikutimandap will also see the participation of financial institutions that will advise and provide financing deals to buyers.
Likewise, the added attraction at the expo is the property clinic that will provide visitors an opportunity to consult different experts related to construction — from vaastu experts and engineers to lawyers.
The exhibition will be open till 9:00pm, with the last three hours designated as corporate hours. The organisers are expecting 150,000 visitors during the four-day event.
