The government has extended approval for the operation of prefabricated building manufacturing industry in the country.
The meeting of the Industrial Promotion Board, led by Minister for Industry Mahesh Basnet has decided to allow prefabricated building manufacturers to operate factories to manufacture cement blocks, steel structures and metal panels.
In Kathmandu Valley, however, industrialists will be allowed to set up their plants outside the Ring Road only.
Similarly, the meeting has also decided to approve chimneyless modern brick factories in the country to meet the demand of bricks as the massive reconstruction work gets underway in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake of April 25.
The Department of Industry will issue the licence for the factories of respective categories following the decision of the Industrial Promotion Board.
