The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has made it third party verification a must for construction of new buildings.
Now onwards, constructions of all new buildings within the metropolis will be supervised by a third party, besides the concerned owner and KMC.
According to KMC, the third party provides consultations to owners about the existing legal and technical aspects of construction and the national building code.
Executive Officer of KMC, Laxman Aryal, said the new system aims to minimise irregularities in construction projects within the capital city. It will also make construction work more organised, safe and legal, he added.
KMC has approved five individuals and firms to provide consultancy services to act as the third party.
