Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to reduce house rent tax by two per cent. .

The KMC has decided to deduct the tax by two per cent as it was charging 12 per cent in previous years. It is sated that the step will encourage citizens to pay the tax to the concerned bodies. .

Similarly, the KMC will not be charging any amount for vital registration and other kinds of recommendations, but it would be effective only till 35 days of the happenings. .

The KMC has also heavily decreased the taxes for recommendation of citizenship certificate to those seeking marital naturalised citizenship. The KMC was charging Rs 10,000 for the same in the previous years and that has made only Rs 500 this fiscal. .

The KMC has reduced taxes charged for recommendation to operate business. The tax has been reduced by 50 percent from Rs 2,000 to Rs 1,000. .

The land registration recommendation charge has also come down to Rs 3000 from Rs 5,000. .
