Land sold in owners' absence

Kavre: Making a mockery of law, land mafias recently sold one ropani of land at Bansghari in Dhulikhel in the absence of real owners through Kalanki land revenue office. Papers show Ramnarayan Shrestha has bought the land of Sahana Shrestha and her brother Rohan Shrestha of Baneshwor. Janardan Guragain, officer, Kavre Inland Revenue Office, said it is illegitimate to sell land in the absence of the owners. “If the victims move the court against such act, the court will initiate a probe,” he said.

Based in Australia, Sahana today moved Kavre Inland Revenue Office against the transaction.
