NA endorses Special Economic Zone and Land Use Bills unanimously

The meeting of the National Assembly has passed two bills—'Special Economic Zone (first amendment) Bill-2075 and 'Land Use Bill- 2075', unanimously on Thursday.

During the meeting, Minister for Finance, Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada, on the behalf of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav, tabled 'Special Economic Zone (first amendment) Bill-2075' while Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal, presented 'Land Use Bill-2075'.

Taking part in the discussion on the bill, Thagendra Prakash Puri, Radhe Shyam Adhikari, Ram Narayan Bidari, Anita Devkota, Durga Prasad Upadhyay and Brinda Devi Ale pointed out the need of effective categorization of land.

On the occasion, Minister Aryal said that the bill was brought for the management of land use as well as for not leaving fertile land barren.


Similarly, the meeting also passed 'National Assembly (first amendment) Regulations-2075' unanimously.

President of National Assembly Regulations-2075 Amendment Draft Committee, Parasuram Meghi Gurung, tabled the proposal in the meeting in this regard.


Earlier, lawmaker Dr Bimala Poudel, had withdrawn her amendment proposal.

Taking part in clause-wise discussion on the Regulations, lawmakers—Ramprit Paswan and Ram Lakhan Chamar - urged to pay attention in proportional inclusive representation as per sentiments of the constitution.
