The real estate transaction in the Kathmandu valley is continuously on a free fall. Compared to the month of Chait, The revenue collection has declined to 42% compared to as of Chait. Even though the month of chait is considered to be the peak season for the real estate transaction, it did not happen this time.
Revenue collection in Chait = Nrs 184,800,000 Revenue collection in Baishak = Nrs 106,100,000 The collection of land revenue in Kathmandu has declined by 50%. It raised Nrs 32800000 in the month of Baisakh where as the collection was 62100000 in the month of Chait. The Chabahil also had a collection of Nrs 28,700,000 in the month of Baishakh which was Nrs 45500000 in the month of Chait. This month is actually meant to be the peak season for the real estate business.
The free fall in the real estate transaction has also an impact in the government revenue collection. After the cap of real estate from the Nepal Rastra Bank, the real estate business is hard hit and the prices of the land has also started to come down.
