Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Chairman Surbir Poudel on Tuesday asked the private sector to bring companies related to real sector.
Poudel said as the government is giving tax exemption to real sector companies for entring the the stock market, private sector could raise money from the public to expand their businesses. Higher representation of companies from the real sector is necessary to boost the capital market, said Poudel at an interaction on ‘Entry of Real Sector in the Stock Market’ organised by SEBON and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerces and Industry (FNCCI).
Private sector, however, does not see a conductive environment for the real sector companies to enter the stock market. FNCCI President Kush Kumar Joshi said given the government’s low priority to save real sector companies from possible collapse, they cannot earn public confidence even if they enter the stock market.
