Description: The manner in which the existing vegetation is conserved and carefully integrated with the building program sets a new paradigm for commercial development that is environmentally responsible yet market competitive. By day, the glass façade reflects the trees, in effect camouflaging the building; by night, it dissolves, dramatically revealing the building within.

Description: Following the site topography, spaces of the pavilion are built with the stone excavated from the site. The tilt in the roof while buffering against the windward side, opens top the breathtaking views on the leeward side. Each structural element of the roof has been designed keeping in mind the transportation and rapid-erection challenges to meet the project schedule.

Description: Envisioned as a symbol of Nepal’s modern era, the workplace combines comforts of a home with the conveniences of a quality hotel and the efficiencies of a modern office, including a large conference center, serviced offices and accommodation for visiting business associates, restaurants, health club, and a variety of retail outlets. The building forms are chiseled to the local solar patterns and prevailing wind directions, with roof gardens insulating the floors and rechanneling rainwater for re-charge and reuse.

Description: L-shaped form has two systems of enclosure: south and east facades being 90% glazed while north and west facade being 90% opeque. This combination of building skin regulates the temperature both during summer and winter months. Meticulously calculated overhangs protect from steep summer sun and monsoon rain while allowing the winter sun to permeate into the rooms. The L-shaped front a south facing courtyard. All the rooms facing this central open space could be totally opened up during good weather conditions and in the event of big gatherings.

Description: Located in an urban neighborhood, the house design is organized around several courtyards. The courtyards serve as private open spaces as much as ecological spaces. The U-shaped massing of the house is oriented to capture summer breeze while providing ample light and ventilation to all the rooms. This residence is expected to consume half the energy that a typical house of this size would in general.
